Cautions for Maintenance of DC Screen and Battery

Cautions for Maintenance of DC Screen and Battery
DC screen batteries are often required to be maintained after purchasing, and the shortcomings caused by the short maintenance of batteries are very high. So the DC screen batteries also need to be maintained punctually in order to avoid problems and problems. So how to maintain the DC screen battery? What are the precautions?
1. Adhere to the Appropriate Environmental Temperature
Generally speaking, the environmental temperature is the main factor affecting the battery life. The optimum ambient temperature required by battery manufacturers is between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. Although the increase of temperature has made progress in battery discharging talent, the cost is that the battery life is greatly shortened. According to the experimental results, once the ambient temperature exceeds 25 degrees, the life of the battery will be reduced by half for every 10 degrees of temperature increase. At present, the batteries used in DC screens are generally maintenance-free sealed lead-acid batteries. The planned life span is 5 years, which arrives in the environment required by battery manufacturers. Failure to meet the environmental requirements of the rules, the length of their life will vary greatly. In addition, the progress of ambient temperature will lead to the increase of chemical activity in the battery, and then a lot of thermal energy will occur, which in turn will promote the rise of ambient temperature. This vicious cycle will accelerate the shortening of battery life.
II. Punctual Charging and Discharging
DC screen batteries are connected with city power for a long time. In the application environment with high quality of power supply and few power outages, the batteries will be in floating charge for a long time. Over time, the activity of conversion between chemical energy and electric energy of batteries will decrease, aging will be accelerated and service life will be shortened. Therefore, the discharge should be completed every 2-3 months, and the discharge time can be recognized according to the capacity and load size of the battery. After a full-load discharge, recharge more than 8 hours according to the rules.
3. Utilization of Communication Functions
At present, most large and medium-sized UPS have operational functions such as communication with microcomputers and program control. On the computer, the corresponding software is connected to UPS through serial/parallel port. By operating the program, the computer can communicate with UPS. Generally, it has functions of information inquiry, parameter setting, punctual setting, automatic shutdown and alarm. Through information inquiry, information such as input voltage, UPS output voltage, load utilization rate, battery capacity utilization rate, in-machine temperature and power frequency can be obtained. Through parameter setting, basic characteristics of UPS, battery maintenance time and battery exhaustion alarm can be set. Through these intellectualized operations, UPS power supply and its batteries are greatly facilitated.
IV. Replacing Waste/Battery in Time
At present, the number of batteries in large and medium UPS power supply equipment varies from 3 to 80, or even more. These individual batteries are connected by circuit to form battery packs to satisfy the demand of UPS DC power supply. In the operation of UPS in succession, due to the difference of function and quality, the function of single battery declines and the storage capacity can not meet the requirement and damage is inevitable. When one or more batteries in the battery pack are damaged, maintenance personnel should check each batteries and eliminate damaged batteries. When replacing new batteries, efforts should be made to purchase batteries of the same type as those produced by the same manufacturer to prevent the mixed use of acid-proof batteries, sealed batteries and batteries of different specifications.
